The grayscale images were segmented into black/white, resolution: 1 µm/px. The samples were either sintered from spherical or formless particles. The nomenclature of the samples is according to:&#xd;
    a) Ti45: spherical, HDH: formless particles,&#xd;
    b) Thickness of the samples / µm,&#xd;
    c) Sinter temperature / °C,&#xd;
    d) IEKxx: sample lot,&#xd;
    e) Size of the segmented image section, the third dimension is the through-plane direction.&#xd;
