In this work, Polyvinylidene fluoride and polyethylene oxide, a non-fluorinated binder, were investigated as binders for a P2-Na2/3Mn2/3Fe1/3O2 cathode material. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy revealed structural changes in Polyvinylidene fluoride during slurry preparation, whereas polyethylene oxide remained unaffected. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis confirmed the chemical and electrochemical stability of polyethylene oxide, while NaF formation provided clear evidence for Polyvinylidene fluoride defluorination and its further degradation during cycling. Galvanostatic charge/discharge measurements showed an improvement in capacity retention of 5.8% after 100 cycles for polyethylene oxide -based electrodes compared to Polyvinylidene fluoride, demonstrating the detrimental impact of Polyvinylidene fluoride degradation on electrochemical performance. These findings highlight the importance of developing chemically stable binder systems for sodium-ion batteries.&lt;p>&#xd;

Dataset:&lt;p>&#xd;

This dataset contains electrochemical measurements, FT-IR, PXRD and XPS to investigate the two different binder Systems PVDF and PEO.&lt;p>&#xd;
&#xd;
The dataset is organized into the following folders:&lt;p>&#xd;
&#xd;
Electrochemical experiments: Cyclovoltammetry and galvanostatic charge/discharge experiments were conducted. Data are stored in the folder Electrochemistry.&lt;p>&#xd;
FT-IR: FI-IR spectroscopy were performed using a Bruker spectrometer (model Vertex 80v). The background was determined in each measurement with an empty sample holder and subtracted from the raw data. Data are stored in the folder FT-IR.&lt;p>&#xd;
PXRD: X-ray diffraction (XRD) experiments were performed using an Empyrean diffractometer (Pananalytical, Almelo, Netherlands). The corresponding diffractograms are stored in the folder PXRD.&lt;p>&#xd;
TGA: Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) was performed on Netzsch STA 449F1. The corresponding measurement are stored in the folder TGA. &lt;p>&#xd;
XPS: X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) for the binder study PVDF/PEO was performed  on a NEXSA G2 photoelectron spectrometer (Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.) with a monochromatic Al-Kα X-ray source (hν = 1486.6 eV) and were carried out by nanoAnalytics GmbH (Germany). Data are stored in the folder XPS.&lt;p>&#xd;
