Abstract: |
Daily mean concentrations for EURAD-IM simulations using four different scenarios of anthropogenic emissions are provided for PM2.5, PM10, NO2, O3, and 7 speciated aerosols for the year 2016 in Europe. In addition, the mortality due to air pollution for each emission scenario and associated population data is provided. The emission scenarios use updated emissions based on CAMS-REG-AP V3.1 (https://eccad.aeris-data.fr/) and anthropogenic emissions within Germany from the German Environment Agency (Umweltbundesamt), submission 2019 V2. They simulate standard emissions without changes ("baseemis" dataset), emission reductions committed by the European Union member states ("euemis"), additional reductions aiming to reduce high PM2.5 concentrations ("eu30"), and eliminating all anthropogenic emissions ("zeroemis"). The dataset is core of the manuscript "European air quality in view of the WHO 2021 guideline levels: Effect of emission reductions on air pollution exposure" published in Elementa (doi: https://doi.org/10.1525/elementa.2023.00127). Population data is taken from the Global Burden of Desease (GBD, GBD 2019 Risk Factors Collaborators, 2020) in conjuction with populatoin distribution data from the NASA Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center (SEDAC, Center for International Earth Science Information Network, 2016). |
