This dataset contains raw behavioral responses of 32 participants (M = 27.72 years, SD = 4.06, 18 males). The experiment examined how participants update cue-target contingencies across two versions of a probabilistic reversal-learning task (reactive and predictive) when provided with accurate or misleading information about environmental volatility. In the reactive task participants were asked to indicate the target location after it’s appearance. In the predictive task participants were asked to predict the target location based on the auditory cue. Each row in the dataset represents one trial. Below is a description of the columns: 1. Block: indicates experimental condition (1: stable/true, 2: stable/false, 3: volatile/true, 4: volatile/false) 2. Instruction at the beginning of a block 3. Environment of the block 4. Index of first and second half 5. Trial number 6. Indicates auditory cue for this trial (hi: high tone, lo: low tone) 7. Indicates target location 8. Indicates target location on the left side 9. Indicates target position on the right side 10. Indicates validity of the trial 11. Indicates cue-target contingency (0: high tone/right, low tone/left; 1: high tone/left, low tone/right) 12. Indicates inter-trial-interval 13. (redundant) description of trial 14. Indictes trial code 15. Indicates button press left/right 16. Reaction time 17. Indicates correctness of response in reactive task; indicates overlap with current association in the predictive task
