Abstract:

In these studies a novel hybrid tracking system was used in order to gather rotation information of pedestrians moving through bottlenecks of different widths. Besides an overhead camera system several participants were equipped with inertial sensors on the chest and back to capture additional relative movement data which can be used to reconstruct the rotation of the upper body.
